This book, which was first published in 1997, is very helpful when interpreting old Scottish documents. Standard words and expressions were used in such documents, for example anent (concerning), subtack (sublet), Martinmas (11th November), and these are explained, making the interpretation of an old document much easier.
It is a very useful book and, if a dictionary can be said to make interesting reading, then this small one is a very interesting read.
