West Lothian Family History Society
will be hosting the
21st Annual Conference of the Scottish Association of Family History Societies
on
Saturday, April 17th, 2010
The venue will be Howden Park Centre, Livingston.
Theme: Paupers, Physicians and Paraffinalia - 150 years of social history in West Lothian
Guest Speakers:
Dr Irene O'Brien, Senior Archivist, Glasgow City Council - Scottish Poor Law: Painting the local picture in West Lothian.
Dr Morrice Macrae, Royal College of Physicians - James Young Simpson and his world.
Professor Michael L Hitchman, Strathclyde University - Social aspects of the Paraffin industry in Scotland.
Elizabeth Henderson, Museums Development Officer, West Lothian Council - Banners and Benefits: Friendly Societies in West Lothian.
Table booking forms are being sent out to all SAFHS members.
Delegate tickets are £10.00 each.
Lunch can be pre-booked and costs £11.00 for a carvery style with choice of roast chicken, beef or ham with new potatoes and vegetables or salad, vegetarian lasagne with mixed salad, chocolate fudge gateau or raspberry cheesecake, tea or coffee.
Howden Park Centre Bistro will also be open all day.
