SAFHS Projects
The Projects Working Group is, at the moment, mainly concentrating on raising the profile of SAFHS Publications.
The main project is to update and re-format 'The Parishes, Registers & Registrars of Scotland', which was first published some fifteen years ago. There have been many changes since that time, especially with regard to addresses of registrars, etc.
The series of SAFHS Leaflets is also being reviewed, and having completed the Leaflet entitled 'Planning the SAFHS Annual Conference', the Project Working Group plan to consider whether there should be updates of the other leaflets which were published by SAFHS some years ago.
There have also been requests from member societies that SAFHS prepare some sort of outline guidance leaflet covering the basis aspects of Copyright as they relate to publications of member societies, and also a guidance leaflet about Graveyard Recording. These will be discussed at the next meeting of the Projects Working Group.
Any other suggestions for consideration by the Projects Working Group will be warmly welcomed, it should be remembered, however, that these should be Scotland-wide projects so as not to encroach on the domain of individual member societies.
